January 19, 2010 – An ITT team at our Residential and Commercial Water value center (RCW) has been working non-stop since last Wednesday (including the holiday weekend) to build 6 Reverse Osmosis (RO) units for Haiti. All of the units shipped yesterday and should arrive in Miami by noon on Wednesday. With the help of many employees, we’re working the logistics to get the units from Miami to the Dominican Republic then into Haiti.
These units were significantly re-engineered based on available components, but were all tested and passed prior to shipment. We are also planning on sending one of our RO field service technicians to Haiti to assist in start-up. Documentation has been prepared in both English and French with actual photos to improve set up and operation.
The attached picture represents most of the individuals who were a part of this successful effort that began only last Wednesday. The units are capable of 6,000 gallons per day each, 36,000 gallons per day total.
